Action: Remember that lifelong Republicans have had to say goodbye to the party they thought was their mirror image. It's not an easy thing to do. Patience and questions will pave the way for conversations you might want to have over the coming months. And remember, life-long Republicans are not all MAGA. Use MAGA for one type of conversation, and another for Republicans, many of whom feel their party has been hijacked.
Once a week, and possibly more often if we can, we will speak with "We the People" about all things America and learn from each other along the way. Short and sweet. Takeaways for sure. You will soon be able to find us on all major streaming platforms.
First stop? Meet Shanette Barth Cohen, one of the founding members of We the People Dispatch, who worked for George Herbert Walker Bush in the Political Affairs Office and considered herself a lifelong Republican. Not now. Her story, her sad search for the party she thought would always reflect her views, is worth the listen.
